Random

Are relationships so very fragile?

I've known people who, despite being together for years and years .. have nothing much to say to each other .. except the obligatory greetings required to keep things civil.

And I've also known people who despite the fireworks and earthquakes during the first two months .. now have resorted to only texting each other .. and that's only after six months ..

Seriously ... have you EVER known anyone who is still madly in love with each other after being together for years?

Or is it just two people trying to keep it civilised?

It seems that people fall in love .. and fall OUT of it even faster .... perhaps it would have been better not to have fallen at all in the first place ....

Wheels ....

Anybody remember this guy?

I still recall staying home from school on certain afternoons ( ok-lah, so i'm THAT old .. satisfied? ) so that I wouldnt miss the sad looking tramp with the bowler hat and the funny walk on TV ...

And of course, what's Charlie without his wheels ... in those days you had to get out front and crank a lever to start the car ...

So you could just imagine my excitement on seeing this the other day when I was driving to an assignment in Port Klang .... I almost couldnt believe my eyes ....

The same car .. close up ..

Just look at those wheels ..

And how it looks like from the rear ..

Another shot from the front ...

And check out that crank !! I was half comtemplating on cranking the lever to see if it would start before I came to my senses ... hehe ...

Funny thing was ... this absolutely incredible vintage car was parked by the road side .. and there wasnt anyone around !! I wonder who it belongs to and how it got there ....

I considered hanging around till someone came for the car .. unfortunately I had work to do and I was already late ... and when I returned to the same spot much later ... it wasnt there anymore ... guess whoever owned it decided to get it ....

Too bad .. I was hoping to ask the owner if I could test drive it ... heheheh ...

Your 'Friendly' Neighbours ...

Arent neighbours supposed to be nice, warm and friendly?

I guess this does not apply where I live.

I live in Ampang .. in a nice private suburban residential area with a view .. it WOULD be perfect if only I had good neighbours .. unfortunately, that is not the case here.

Let me tell you about my neighbours.

On my immediate right is a couple with two school-going kids. Apparently, the couple seem to resent me as they had originally planned to get the house i'm now residing in for their friend or relative ... but the so-called friend or relative did not put up the initial deposit for the house on time at the developer ( which worked out for me, I guess .. as I made payment and was assigned THIS particular lot ) ..

And so now that im staying here .. the so-called friend or relative drops in every now and then to visit my neighbour and parks directly in front of my house whilst he spends the night .. it wasnt until I had to tell him that I go out at ALL hours and would just HATE to have to call him to remove his car at 0300 am ..... did he get the message NOT to park directly in front of my house.

Sheeesh.

My other neighbour that stays 2 doors away is even more 'interesting'. Both of us keep pets .. in this case, I have a Dalmation ( Jolly ) and the 'aunty' keeps a mixed labrador.

Now .. I have a proper kennel with a floor drain that leads directly to the sewage - so anytime 'Jolly' does his business, all I have to do is hose it into the floor drain .. unfortunately for me, that is not the case with my 'aunty' neighbour. As I live in a corner lot and she lives in an intermediate lot .. she basically collects all the 'dumplings' her labrador makes .. and dumps it into the drain next to my house.

Her reasoning?

The drain next to my house is a much bigger drain and it will wash away much more easily than the small little drain outside her house.

Never mind if I have to put up with 'fertiliser smells' when there is NO rain ... besides, she says that I also have a pet so I should not complain.

And so it comes as no surprise that my SYABAS bill is not as low as I want it to be.

Man .. I thought people living in the cities are supposed to be civilised.

Guess not.
